Looking for Kids Activities to keep your kids busy?
We are always looking for fun and rewarding kids activities to keep our kids busy while we vacuum the floor, put in another load of laundry, or to just have some ME time. Ages 3 to 5 are the toughest ages to keep happy. We have tried the expensive toys, but children love to use their imagination, and I've found that you don't have to spend a lot, if any, money to keep them happy. Here are some ideas that have helped me in the past that are educational and fun at the same time!
1. Print out some free Christmas coloring pages,
2. Subscribe to Highlights(see below)...remember these when you were a kid? The kids look forward to getting them in the mail, and they keep the kids busy for hours! Not to mention, they provide educational fun as well.
3. Check out the FREE online games at pbs.org. Kids love to play games with their favorite TV characters.
4. Throw a bunch of towels on the bathroom floor, fill the sink with bubbles and some plastic measuring cups, and you will have at least a half an hour to yourself! This is age dependent, of course, but a fun one if your child is old enough. Yes, it's messy, but easy to clean up. The trick is to put plenty of towels on the floor to prevent slips.
5. Put some dried pasta or beans, like macaroni, in a plastic cup, cover with wax paper, or computer paper. Secure with tape and a rubber band, and Voila! You have a maraca!
6. Order some goodies at Oriental Trading company...they are cheap, and the kids have so much fun doing the crafts and activities that are available.
If you are looking for Halloween crafts to do with the kids, check out the Halloween Crafts Store. I will be adding more of these as time goes on and would love to get feedback from other moms that have discovered fun and safe activities for their kids to do around the house.
